Finally got my chainsaw out to begin cutting Sculpture number 3. The day began well and ended badly!

Nice firm wood at this end

Rotten wood at this end

Tried to cut it away

The rot goes in about 12 inches!

I’ll have to rethink the form of this sculpture. It may turn out to be the first ever sculpture dictated by the passage of rot into old teak. Could turn out to be a weird shape.

Nice maquette though.
